Do-do-do-do do-do-do-do
Picture a country in which everything is turned upside down. Where secular is sacred and sacred infringes upon our rights to look 360 degrees around us, and decide that anything that disagrees with our own personal belief, we can sue to remove it. A country in which the number one song on iTunes is a love song to Judas Iscariot told from the perspective of Mary Magdalene. Wait, that offends millions of Americans, we should sue to remove it...what, the Christians are complaining and threatening to sue...those fundamentalists. You are about to enter a zone of reasoning with no reason...
Welcome to the blasphemous modern zone!
The rise of blasphemous modern has permeated vast swathes of the art world by taking existing religious concepts and images then transforming them into an art form by desecration.
The desecration though is usually very ambiguous and it is this ambiguity that is a trade mark of blasphemous modern which allows the artist involved to get away with much more than they could by direct desecration.
Another trade mark of blasphemous modern is the artist will nearly always deny citing blasphemous modern as inspiration or applying the insidious nature of its concepts in any of their works.
And the ultimate tragedy is Americans are too stupid to see the difference. Welcome to what I will call the "Batman dilemma" for Christianity. The enemies have no rules. Batman has rules.
When the enemies find out that Batman will not kill them, they win.
In the world (Gotham City) the bad guys have pushed and pushed, farther and farther, and guess what? No immediate tragic results. The wrath of God is being stored up, but they do not see it. They have us figured out. They are better at politics 'cause we aren't supposed to lie. They are better lawyers 'cause we are supposed to act justly. They are better at marketing 'cause they have the money and power. In a world where we are the Batman and have to make the ultimate choice...we lose.
The good news for us is that the fight is the Lord's and it will not take place on the battlefield of public opinion, or in the ring of politics. Jesus will fight the battle for us and he can make the choice that no man can make. He can be the judge, jury and executioner. So take heart, someday Lady Gaga may get to meet Judas and they can share their love story, if they can get past the flames, worms, torture and all that...who knows that may be Gaga's style.
